Triple Glazing (Encapsulation) of Leaded and Stained Glass
The stained and leaded glass panel is carefully removed from the existing window frame. The panel has the old edge lead removed, the panel is then re-sized and a new edge lead added. Any broken or cracked pieces of glass are repaired.
We then clean the stained glass and polish up the leads before encapsulating it inside a double glazed unit.
All our units conform to UK building regulation Part L.
By encasing the stained glass between two layers of toughened glass we create a formidable barrier to the burglar.
Condensation will not occur inside the Double Glazed Unit.
This option allows you the increase in amenity provided by Double Glazing whilst still retaining your original stained and leaded glass windows that add value and character to your house and home.
