Jenson Button Trust Triathlon

July 9, 2013

As you may have heard the Sherriff Stained Glass Specialists team are back working hard raising money for another great cause. Following on from a successful race last year, Nathan is once again participating in the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon.

Competing this year to raise money for Help For Heroes, Nathan has been training harder than ever. His regime has been grueling, training almost every evening by cycling along the Bournemouth sea front to build up muscle for the cycling and running sections of the race and improve his overall stamina. He has also cut out all of what he would describe as the “good tasty food”, sticking to a very strict diet to make sure he is in the best possible shape.

This year he is also joined by his brother, Nicholas, and sister-in-law, Lyndsey, and they’re hoping making it a family affair will help them push through those final few miles.

When asked about competing in the event once more Nathan said, "I’m looking forward to enjoying the atmosphere of the whole event again and seeing how my training pays off. I’m hoping to beat my previous time but, to be honest, as long as I'm still on my bike as I come into the transition area for the run then I'm doing better then last year!” (A puncture half way through last year’s triathlon left him carrying his bike to finish line, so fingers crossed he has a little more luck this time around!)

The fundraising has been going well but of course Nathan is keen to beat his total from last year. Help For Heroes have set up a subsidised text line through which friends, family and clients have been texting JENS95 £5 or JENSEN95 £2 to 70070 to donate £5 or £2 respectively, so if you would like to help a worthy cause donation couldn’t be simpler!
