Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units

The Brief

Our team recently completed a project in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire where we fitted 22 of our handmade Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units to a private home. We also carried out 6 original metal casement refurbishments. As a stained glass specialist, we knew exactly how to approach this project to ensure a high quality finish.

Getting To Work

Our Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units are both designed and made in house, so we have a clear understanding of the installation process. Each unit consists of a ‘stick-on’ lead which is applied to a specially crafted glass panel. We installed the 22 units directly into the existing frames of the private home to save on costs and make use of the existing structure.

On top of this, we performed metal window restoration with accuracy and precision. Our skilled metal smiths completed the 6 metal casement refurbishments at our workshop in Dorset. The thorough window restoration process began with the careful removal and transportation of the frames. We then used traditional materials and techniques to restore the casement to its former glory, and refitted them in a clean satin white finish.

The result

For this private home, the Conservation Grade Double Units were tastefully implemented throughout the property. They added a timeless aesthetic by mimicking the appearance of traditional leaded light windows. The refurbished window frames, now in a satin white finish, added a sleek, clean look to the property.
