Brief For Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units

The team were tasked with a large project for a manor house in Kent. The property required 120 of our hand-made Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units and 99 Metal frame restorations to return the building to its former glory. As leading specialists in metal window restoration, this was a project the team were confident in completing.

What did we do?

As our Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units are manufactured and designed in-house, we have an in-depth understanding of the installation process. The glass panels are tailored to each project and feature a ‘stick-on’ lead. This allows the windows to mimic the appearance of traditional leaded light windows as closely as possible. One of the major benefits of the Conservation Grade Double Units, particularly for homes, is that it has a lower U value than leaded light windows. This saves on energy costs due to the improved thermal performance.

Our experienced metal smiths also undertook the metal window restoration at our Dorset workshop. The window restoration process began with transporting the frames with care to ensure there was no further damage. They were then able to use our trusted techniques to restore the casement.

The finished product

The Conservation Grade Double Units looked perfect for this type of property. They effortlessly added to the timeless aesthetic of the classic building, whilst delivering improved energy efficiency. The client was over the moon with the finished result and commended us on our quality service.
