After a career in aviation flying all over the world for British Airways. Ellie joined the family business to take over all the administration responsibilities. Ellie’s day to day tasks involve meeting new clients, responding with emails and answering inquires. Stuart started to train as an Architect but got fed up of drawing straight lines all day long, so changed to Bournemouth Art College learning Graphic Design for 4 years. After graduating from Art College Stuart started working for Advertising Agencies and Design Groups along the South Coast. Stuart was a Freelance Graphic designer before computers were main stream. In 2001 Stuart attended one of our Stained and Leaded Glass courses taught by Steve Sherriff. At the end of this course Steve offered Stuart a job which he accepted. Stuart is our main stained glass window and leaded window craftsman in our workshops and oversees all the workshop aspects of our work.
Gillian studied art at Edinburgh College of Art, but always liked the idea of Stained Glass – Gillian went on to take further courses in the discipline of Stained Glass and painting on glass. Gillian initially came to Steve Sherriff to buy tools and materials but her talents were too good to go unnoticed. Gillian carry’s out all of our hand painted Stained Glass pieces which are fired in our on site kiln. You will often find Gillian at pop up art shows selling her own creative stained glass works.
We operate in all stained glass disciplines:
- Traditional Lead
- Tiffany (lampshades mirrors and indoor designs etc)
- Painting on glass (traditional stained glass)
- Glass fusing in the kiln (melting and bending glass in the kiln)
