Damaged Stained Glass Door Panels Window Repair – Saint Mark’s Crescent, London
The Brief
Due to frequent use, stained glass front doors often experience damage sooner than windows. With the doors constantly being opened and closed, perhaps even accidentally slammed on occasion, the stained glass door panels can become weak and sustain damage.
Homeowners living on Saint Mark’s Crescent in Camden, London, had noticed that all of the large door panels fitted in the entrance to their house looked like they needed stained glass repair. We visited the property to assess the damage and determined that each panel needed to be re-leaded.
Getting to Work
We removed all of the stained glass door panels and in place of these we fitted two obscure windows. These temporary windows allow for the secureness of the door to remain intact, and they allow for the continued use of the door. We then took the stained glass door panels to be repaired in our workshop in Dorset.
A member of our stained glass repair team re-leaded each stained glass door panel and headed back to Saint Mark’s Crescent to fit these back into their original places.
The Result
The stained glass door looks good as new! Stained glass repair improved both the appearance of the door and the lifetime of the windows, increasing the longevity by 80 years.
