Double Glazed Stained Glass Windows - Alum Chine, Bournemouth

The Brief‍

Sherriff Stained Glass Specialists stained glass specialists recently undertook a stained glass encapsulation project at a property at Alum Chine Beach, Bournemouth.

Due to our passion and 30 years of experience in stained glass, this was an exciting project for our team – especially being right on the beautiful Dorset coastline!

‍Getting to Work

‍Our team quickly got to work on this fantastic beachside project. Firstly, we carefully removed the original stained glass windows to our workshop in Wimborne, Dorset.

Then, the stained glass windows were re-leaded, repaired, cleaned and polished before being sealed into double glazed panels. Once the stained glass has been encapsulated, this essentially creates a ‘triple glazed’ barrier designed to protect the stained glass panels but also reduce heat loss.

To complete this project, we then refitted the stained glass windows into original wooden casements.

‍The Result

‍These double glazed stained glass windows are now beautifully encapsulated and look good as new. The client was absolutely delighted with the result and are pleased to now have an energy efficient home with increased heat retention.
