Leaded Windows with Double Glazing – Ophir Road, Bournemouth

The Brief‍

We were contacted to manufacture and fit 5 new leaded windows, each encapsulated within double glazing units.

‍Getting to Work

‍We understand that people want to add double glazing to their leaded windows to increase the safety of their home, but don’t want to compromise on the appearance of those lead windows. We added a special Y section of lead to the edge of the leaded windows so that each could be sandwiched between a double glazing unit. This increased the amenity of the leaded glass windows and reinforced the security.

‍The Result

‍Classic leaded windows are a feature with character. As they are leaded windows with double glazing, they now have a lifetime of at least 100 years due to the double glazing housing.
