Bespoke Church Leaded Stained Glass Window for the Holy Family Catholic Church of Slough

The Brief

We were asked to design a new religious stained glass window for the Holy Family Catholic Church of Slough. The brief was to depict a modern interpretation of St. John and St. Mary Magdalene coming together at the cross in a new leaded stained glass window. We made two visits to the Holy Family Catholic Church of Slough, who commissioned the project, with various designs and church stained glass for the committee to choose from.

Getting to Work

Once the final design of the church stained glass window was chosen we set about building the panel in the workshop, which took around 1 week to produce. Stuart Wilson, who is head of design and building in our workshop, made the panel - in-fact, it was his design that was chosen! Once the leaded stained glass window was made and ready for fitting, Nathan, one of our stained glass specialists, went to the Church and removed the existing window. He fitted the new stained glass window using a lime mortar mix.

The Result

The modern church stained glass window is a beautiful addition to the Holy Family Catholic Church of Slough.

The funds for the new window were donated by a member of the congregation in memory of her recently deceased husband.
