Wooden Double Glazed Stained Glass Windows – Privet Road, Gosport

The Brief

‍Stained glass windows beautify features of a home; they add character and are a period feature. In some instances, stained glass or leaded windows are many years old, which may mean they don’t have the sufficient glazing and thickness to keep a home safe and insulated.

We were contacted by homeowners in Gosport to provide lead window restoration to their leaded stained glass windows before encapsulating each window in double glazing. Leaded window repair vastly increases the longevity of leaded glass windows, and the double glazing provides security.

‍Getting to Work

‍We removed and re-leaded all the 6 windows, before encapsulating each stained glass window within a double glazed unit.  Once complete, we re-fitted each leaded window into the existing wooden window frames, which were later decorated.

‍The Result

‍The wooden double glazed stained glass windows provides amenity without changing the appearance of the windows; our double glazing won’t even be picked up in a photo!
