When to restore leaded windows

steve-sherriff-leaded-windows-grade-II-listed-building-kilmersdon-2Often leaded windows, otherwise known as leaded glass or leaded lights, will have loose or rattling glass, cracked solder joints and/or very fragile lead cames. This is a sign that age has taken its toll and they should be restored before there is further deterioration. We provide leaded window restoration that will reinstate the window  and give your leaded windows over a 100 years of life!

We often find that the old external strengthening bars are made from mild steel and have deteriorated over time (particularly a problem for stonework). We can replace these with either lead covered mild steel, stainless steel or phosphor bronze to provide a zero maintenance option for a long term benefit.

If you’re interested in leaded window restoration, whether it be a listed building, a church or your home contact Steve Sherriff today or call us on 01202 882208. Steve Sherriff also provide stained glass window restoration services.
