Double Glazing Within Leaded Windows – Newstead Road, Bournemouth

The Brief

Our brief involved refurbishing the original leaded windows in Bournemouth and encapsulating them within a double glazed unit. The client wished to keep the period look of their front door, thus needed double glazing specialists to ensure the appearance wasn’t comprised.

Getting to Work

We fitted bespoke double glazed units and trapped the original leaded windows within it to achieve triple glazing. We removed the door to add a draught excluder all the way around the edge and introduced a bottom door stop. This eliminated any draughts from the front door. The door will be painted in due course.

The Result

Double glazing has provided the needed uplift that the client requested and added amenity. The leaded windows of this period property are now protected for years to come.
