The Brief

Sherriff Stained Glass Specialistswas recently tasked with a fantastic stained glass window panels project for The Holy Family Catholic Church in Slough. Our expert team of stained glass specialists was commissioned to produce four custom stained glass panels.

Getting To Work

All of Sherriff Stained Glass Specialists’ stained glass windows and panels are manufactured using traditional techniques. Once the plan and design for the project was discussed and agreed on, our team of experienced stained glass specialists got to work on this exciting project.Firstly, individual pieces of glass were cut to fit the shapes outlined in the design. After the glass had been cut, the individual pieces of glass were then painted, fired in the kiln and then glazed. The individual stained glass pieces were built into stained glass panels using lead cames, encompassing the edges of each piece of glass.Once all of the stained glass window panel segments and lead cames were in place, every joint on both sides was soldered, to ensure that the decorative window stays put for years to come.

The Result

Once these colourful and picturesque stained glass window panels were complete, they were fitted into existing window frames at The Holy Family Catholic Church.
